Class Description

In our practice together, we explore fun Yoga poses in creative, engaging, non-competitive ways, incorporating yogic games, props and music while working on strength, focus and balance. We also practice Sun Salutations, Partner Yoga Poses, Pranayamas and Meditation. Children learn simple mindfulness exercises, breathing techniques, Yoga and meditation practices to help calm down and energize during their busy day of learning, learn to relax and cope with the challenges in the school.

In this class, postures are practiced to align, strengthen, and promote flexibility in the body. Complete relaxation and balance are the goals as we make a full circuit with the body’s range of motion with Standing, Sitting, Prone and Supine postures. We also practice Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutations), Pranayamas (Breathing and Relaxation exercises), followed by Meditation.

Class Level: All levels 
Ease/Intensity: Moderate – you’ll get a great workout (and still have energy after class)
Props: Blocks & blankets recommended
